High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

The 4th annual Raleway Festival is coming back to the Palmerston Railway Heritage Museum.The event welcomes local Ontario breweries to Palmerston for Ales on the Rails, with plenty on offer for everyone who attends.There will be local food vendors, games, and tours available through the historic railway museum. Live music will also be part of the festivities.A handful of Ontario brewers will be on-site and those of drinking age can enjoy samples throughout the day for $2 a sample.Tickets can be purchased on <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="http://www.allaboardpalmerston.ca">www.allaboardpalmerston.ca</a> or in-person at the Palmerston Home Hardware, Palmerston Railway Heritage Museum, or the Town of Minto administrative office during operating hours. Admission in advance is $15 with a Raleway Festival Event Cup and $10 for admission only. Prices will be higher at the gate.
