Police charge member of Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board

The Owen Sound Police Service says its Criminal Investigation Branch has arrested and charged an employee of the Bruce Grey Catholic District School Board.

But police are saying little else about the case, including what charges have been laid.

Because the case involves a young person, a court-ordered publication ban is in effect, prohibiting the publication of any information that could identify the victim.

Owen Sound police say because of the ban and the ongoing nature of the investigation, no further details will be released at this time.

However, police are asking for witnesses or other potential victims to come forward, while acknowledging the difficulty of disclosing limited information.

"We believe it to be an isolated incident, hopefully, so if you have knowledge you have knowledge and if you don't, then it doesn't pertain to you as a potential witness," said Det. Sgt. Josh Gurney.

Information can be reported directly to the Owen Sound Police Service at 519-376-1234. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at www.crimestop-gb.org.
