Student mental health event to be held in Goderich

A "fun run" for students in Goderich will be held following the completion of a mental health program.

The Maitland Valley Family Health Team partnered with St. Mary's Goderich Catholic School for a new eight week program designed by Team Unbreakable, a non-profit organization in Toronto.

Every Friday since April, a group of 50 kids in Grades 4, 5 and 6 at the school participated in the new program that "teaches youth to run, while providing psycho-education highlighting the connection between mental and physical health," according to a media release.

Now, the program will end with a "fun run" with students running two kilometres at the GDCI track on Thursday, June 5 at 12:00 p.m.
