Man arrested after barricading himself in Chesley home

One person has been charged after a disturbance that led to a large police presence in Chesley.

South Bruce OPP, West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), Crisis Negotiators and West Region OPP K-9 responded to a home at 3 p.m. on 1st Avenue North.

Police said a man barricaded himself inside and in the interest of the publics safety a perimeter was established.

At approximately 1 a.m. on Sunday the man was arrested without incident or injury.

He is charged with two counts of uttering threats causing death or bodily harm, mischief- destroy or damage to property, and fail to comply with probation order.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

There was no threat to public safety, police said.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
