Durham credit union robbed

West Grey police have confirmed that four men committed an armed robbery at a financial institution in Durham on Tuesday afternoon.

Police responded to a call around 4:40 p.m. on June 10 at the Northern Credit Union.

According to witness statements, four male suspects dressed in dark clothing and wearing masks, exited a black SUV before entering the credit union.

Once inside, one suspect brandished a machete while another was observed with a handgun. No injuries were reported.

Police say the suspects took an undisclosed amount of money before escaping in the same black SUV.

The vehicle was last seen heading southbound from the area.

The West Grey Police Service says it is actively investigating the incident with neighbouring law enforcement agencies.
