Police find suspected hit-and-run vehicle destroyed by fire

Police have found a vehicle believed to have caused a fatal hit-and-run in Hanover.

At around 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, a 66-year-old woman was hit while crossing 7th Avenue. She later died from her injuries in the hospital.

A 2007 red PT Cruiser was reportedly the vehicle that hit the woman. It was found on Saturday, destroyed by a fire in a bush lot on Sideroad 25 in the former Brant Township north of Morry's Trailer Sales.

Hanover police are asking anyone in the area who may have seen the vehicle or smoke from the fire to contact them at 519.364.2411. Police are also urging the driver of the vehicle to turn themselves in.
