An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A head-on crash involving a utility truck has claimed the life of one person in Georgian Bluffs.Emergency crews were called to the collision between a vehicle and utility truck on Grey Road 5 near Creamery Hill just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday. The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old from Owen Sound, suffered serious life-threatening injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Their name has not been released.The Utility truck driver suffered non-life threatening injuries, Grey Bruce OPP said.Grey Road 5 between Inglis Falls Road and Concession 3 Derby Road was closed for several hours while the OPP traffic incident management and enforcement team was on scene. The road has since reopened.The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.Anyone with information is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
