21-year-old Owen Sound driver killed in head-on crash

A head-on crash involving a utility truck has claimed the life of one person in Georgian Bluffs.

Emergency crews were called to the collision between a vehicle and utility truck on Grey Road 5 near Creamery Hill just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday. The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old from Owen Sound, suffered serious life-threatening injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Their name has not been released.

The Utility truck driver suffered non-life threatening injuries, Grey Bruce OPP said.

Grey Road 5 between Inglis Falls Road and Concession 3 Derby Road was closed for several hours while the OPP traffic incident management and enforcement team was on scene. The road has since reopened.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
