High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A collision involving an ATV on a rail trail in Grey Highlands sent a pedestrian to hospital.Emergency crews were called to the hit-and-run on the Grey County Rail Trail near Road 110 just after 6 p.m. on Monday. Grey Bruce OPP determined a pedestrian had been hit by the off-road machine, which then took off from the scene.The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.A description of the suspect ATV was not released.Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
