Canadian Blood Services to hold more local blood donation events

Canadian Blood Services will be holding more blood donation events in Midwestern Ontario to start and end July.

There will be a pair of blood donation clinics in Mount Forest. One will be on Canada Day from noon until 5 p.m. and another on July 29 from 2-7 p.m. at the Mount Forest Recreation Complex.

Owen Sound will also see two clinics. One will go on July 2 and the other on July 30, with both running from 2-7 p.m. at the Owen Sound Legion.

According to Canadian Blood Services, only 2 per cent of eligible people in Canada donate blood, so the organization has set its most ambitious goal ever: to recruit 1 million new donors in the next 5 years.

Visit blood.ca, download the GiveBlood app or call 1-888-2DONATE to donate.
