UPDATE: Crash that closed sections of Highway 6 near Mount Forest is cleared, driver sustains "life threatening" injuries

A two-vehicle crash that closed a section of Highway 6 near Mount Forest and caused "life-threatening" injuries to a driver has been cleared.

Wellington County OPP have confirmed that sometime this morning, they responded alongside other emergency responders to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 6 and Sideroad 2 West / East, just outside of Mount Forest.

Police say the crash involved a transport truck and a pick-up truck.

The OPP have confirmed that the driver of the pick-up truck sustained "life-threatening" injuries and was transported to a trauma centre.

Police also closed Highway 6 at Queen Street and Main Street, Murphy Street and Highway 6, Bentley Street and Highway 6, Sideroad 2 East and Concession Road 8 and Sideroad 3 West and Sally Street. The road was re-opened just before 5 p.m.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or has information, such as dash-cam footage, that could assist with this ongoing investigation is asked to contact the Wellington County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
