Huron East holding open house for Goderich Street construction

The Municipality of Huron East is holding a public information session ahead of major reconstruction on a main Seaforth street.

The extensive road work will span along Goderich Street West (Hwy 8) from Harpurhey Road to Main Street and be completed over the next two years.

Work will be completed in three phases, with the first coming this fall. Phase 1 will see reconstruction from Harpurhey Road to Sparling Street. Phase 2 will take place next year, spanning from Sparling to Main Street.

The final phase, surface course paving for the entire street, will take place in 2027.

The Municipality says local and large vehicle detours will be established for traffic in and around Seaforth while work is underway.

For those looking to learn more about the major project, an information session will be held at the Seaforth Town Hall on Wednesday, July 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. That will include a short presentation from Omega Contractors Inc. and B.M. Ross and Associates Limited around 5 p.m.
