Charges laid following assault investigation

Huron County OPP have charged one person following a recent assault in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh (ACW).

According to police, on June 25, officers responded to a reported disturbance at a location in ACW.

Police learned that a suspect had threatened and assaulted two other people.

The suspect, a 35-year-old of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with assault, uttering threats, assault causing bodily harm, and failing to comply with probation order.

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and remanded into custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
