Saugeen Shores Aquatic and Wellness Centre receives $50,000 from local hotel

A local hotel has donated $50,000 to the Saugeen Shores Aquatic and Wellness Centre.

According to a media release from the Town of Saugeen Shores, Summerside Hospitality Group, owner of the Holiday Inn Express and Suites and Staybridge Suites Port Elgin, has made the generous donation toward the new Aquatic and Wellness Centre.

The Aquatic and Wellness Centre is "designed to be a regional hub for recreation and wellness, offering an 8-lane competition pool, leisure pool, fitness centre, walking track, gymnasium, and multi-purpose program rooms to serve people of all ages and abilities," according to the media release.

Saugeen Shores continues to build the new recreational facility which should be completed this fall. Any individuals or businesses that still wish to contribute can get involved with the Commemorative Brick Campaign, which offers a unique way to support the project by purchasing a personalized brick that will be displayed at the facility.
