South Bruce OPP share numbers from Canada Day Week traffic blitz

South Bruce OPP handed out over 60 speeding tickets during the recent week-long Canada Day Week traffic blitz.

According to a media release from the South Bruce OPP, 62 tickets were doled out for speeding during the 6-day campaign.

The week also saw 5 charges for disobeying a stop sign, 7 charges for driving while suspended, 4 stunt driving charges, 1 careless driving offence and 1 for not wearing a helmet while operating an ATV.

Additionally, three motorists were arrested and charged with impaired driving related offences.

The South Bruce OPP are reminding everyone that just because the traffic campaign is over doesn't mean enforcement won't continue.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
