Arrest made following theft in Goderich

Huron County OPP have arrested and charged one person following a recent theft in Goderich.

On June 28, police were contacted by store staff following a theft from a retail store in Goderich.

The suspect was captured on video surveillance and police were able to identify the culprit. The accused was tracked down and arrested a short time later.

As a result, a 34-year-old of no fixed address has been charged with theft under $5,000 and fail to comply with probation order.

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing where they were later released from custody with a pending court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich on July 21.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
