Pedestrian transported by air ambulance from Wiarton

A pedestrian was rushed to the hospital following a serious collision Thursday morning in Wiarton.

The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the scene at the intersection of Berford Street and Frank Street around 10:35 a.m. Officers reported that the Ornge Air Ambulance transported the pedestrian to a London area trauma centre. The intersection was closed for several hours. It was reopened around 7:30 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Police are requesting anyone with information or dash-cam footage from the area around the time of the collision to call 1-888-310-1122.
