South Bruce OPP preparing for commercial motor vehicle campaign

The South Bruce OPP is joining other police departments around Ontario for the upcoming province-wide traffic safety initiative, "Operation Safe Driver".

The South Bruce OPP says the annual campaign will run July 13-19 this year, with a focus on safe driving practices that impact commercial motor vehicles.

Patrolling officers will be looking for speeding, distracted driving, pre-trip inspections, commercial vehicle permits, logbooks, weight restrictions, means of attachment, unsafe loads, insurance, and licensing infractions.

Police note that drivers can expect a heavier volume of police cruisers on roadways throughout Ontario during the campaign.
