The Hottest Street Sale returns to Owen Sound River District

A summer tradition in Owen Sound returns this weekend as the Hottest Street Sale takes over the River District on Saturday, July 12, 2025.

Now celebrating its 35th year, the event transforms downtown’s 2nd Avenue East between 7th Street East and 11th Street East into a lively pedestrian marketplace, brimming with vendors, food, music, and family activities.

The street sale kicks off at 8 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m., with more than 200 places to shop, eat, and be entertained throughout the day. To accommodate the festivities, 2nd Avenue East from 7th to 11th Streets East, including the intersection at 2nd Avenue East and 9th Street East, will be closed to traffic starting at 5 a.m. Saturday morning. However, all municipal parking lots and nearby street parking will remain open and accessible outside the event zone.

The Owen Sound & District Chamber of Commerce will host a community stage on the steps of City Hall, showcasing demonstrations and performances by local groups beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The Hottest Street Sale is a free, family-friendly event, and organizers are encouraging attendees to follow along on social media using @RiverDistrictOS and the hashtag #HottestStreetSale.
