Charges laid in crash that sent motorcyclist to hospital

Grey Bruce OPP have laid charges against an Owen Sound resident following an investigation into a crash that sent a motorcycle rider to hospital.

Just before 4 p.m. on June 23 just before 4 p.m., emergency crews reponsed to a two-vehicle collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle on Grey Road 17 at Big Rock Road in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

As a result of the crash, the motorcycle rider sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to police.

Following an investigation, police have charged a 39-year-old driver from Owen Sound with careless driving causing bodily harm.

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences Court in Owen Sound on August 11 to answer to the charge.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
