Six people hurt in head-on crash near Arthur

A head-on collision outside of Arthur Monday night injured six people, one seriously.

A van and pickup truck collided on Wellington Road 109 between Side Road 17 and Wellington Road 12 around 7:15 p.m. One person from the van had to be airlifted to hospital. Wellington OPP described that individual's injuries as non-life threatening, but life-altering.

The three other people from the van and two people in the truck suffered minor injuries. Two of the five with minor injuries required hospital treatment, police said.

A 36-year-old from Brampton is charged with careless driving causing bodily harm and failure to share half the roadway when meeting a vehicle. The accused will appear in Guelph court in relation to the charges at a later date.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dash-cam footage to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
