Charges laid following home invasion and assault in West Perth

One of a pair of suspects has been arrested and charged following a home break-in and assault in West Perth.

According to the Perth County OPP, on July 12, police launched an investigation after being tipped off about an incident where two individuals broke into a residence and assaulted the homeowner.

One of those individuals, a 33-year-old man from Stratford, has been arrested and charged with Break and Enter, Mischief Under $5,000, Failure to Comply with Release Order, Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm, Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon.

The arrested suspect remains in custody and was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on July 16.

Police are seeking the second suspect said to be involved with this incident. If anyone has any information, contact Perth County OPP or Crime Stoppers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
