Man charged after replica gun spotted at Meaford Harbour

Charges have been laid after Grey Bruce OPP were called about a man with what was believed to be a gun at the Meaford Harbour.

The incident was reported to police around 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Officers located a man matching the suspect description near the harbour's children's recreation area. He was cooperative with police and was taken into custody without issue.

A replica airsoft handgun was seized, police said.

A 32-year-old man from Port Elgin is charged with possession of break-in instruments, being intoxicated in a public place, having an open container in an unauthorized place, and failure to comply with an undertaking. He is scheduled to appear in Owen Sound court on Wednesday.
