OPP resolve barricaded person incident in Mildmay

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in South Bruce have arrested one person after an incident Thursday afternoon in Mildmay.

Shortly before 3 p.m., officers were called to Peter Street in Mildmay, and learned that a person was barricaded inside a house.

The OPP was assisted by crisis negotiators and Bruce County paramedics, along with a K-9 Unit, the West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, and the Emergency Response Team.

The situation was resolved just before 5:30 p.m. with one person in custody.

There was no threat to public safety.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
