Grey Bruce OPP warns of spike in trailer thefts

Police in Grey Bruce are warning residents about a recent surge in trailer thefts across the region. The OPP says utility, boat, and enclosed cargo trailers have been stolen from driveways, farms, and commercial properties.

Residents are encouraged to park trailers in secure, well-lit areas, use wheel and hitch locks, remove tires or hitches when not in use, and install motion-sensor lighting or cameras.

Police also recommend etching unique identifiers onto trailer frames and keeping detailed records to help with recovery.
