Bystanders perform CPR after swimmer pulled from Lake Huron

A 50-year-old swimmer was rushed to hospital in critical condition after being rescued from Lake Huron at Pinery Provincial Park.

OPP say officers responded just after 5:00 p.m. on July 26 to reports of an unresponsive individual on Lakeshore Road. The swimmer had gone into distress in the water and was brought to shore by bystanders, who began CPR until emergency crews arrived.

Police are thanking members of the public for their quick action, and say their investigation is ongoing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
