Dog involved in biting incident being looked for by public health

Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH) is trying to identify a dog involved in a biting incident in Goderich.

According to HPPH, on August 8 sometime between 9:30-10:30 a.m., an individual was bitten by a dog at the intersection of Courthouse Square and Montreal Street.

The dog involved is desribed as a small-sized, black and white and possibly a Shih Tzu mix. A male was walking the dog when the incident occurred.

The health unit is investigating this incident to check if the rabies vaccination status of the dog is up to date.

HPPH reminds people to always obtain the contact information of the owners of the animal that is involved in an incident.

Anyone who has information about this dog should contact Huron Perth Public Health.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
