Stratford police seize over 160 firearms, charge man

A 69-year-old man is facing charges after Stratford Police executed a search warrant at a Perth South residence last week.

On Wednesday, August 13, officers conducted a search in connection to reports of firearms being stored unsafely.

According to police, the warrant resulted in the seizure of approximately 165 firearms. Stratford police said around 65 of those were handguns that restricted or prohibited.

Officers also seized a large amount of ammunition, gun powder and gun parts.

Police say the man was charged with careless use of firearms and will appear in Stratford court in September.
