L'Arche Stratford raises over $14,000 at annual golf tournament

L'Arche Stratford's 5th annual golf tournament raised $14,700 this year in support of the Be, Belong, Become capital campaign.

This year's tournament was held at the Stratford Municipal Golf Course on Thursday, August 14. 60 golfers participated in the 5th Annual L’Arche Stratford Golf Tournament sponsored by Cachet Homes, and 139 people attended the After-Party at the Ritsma Farm.

The funds are all in support of the Be, Belong, Become campaign, which is a $6.5 million capital campaign funding the construction of a new 15,000 sq. ft. building for L’Arche Stratford at 426 Britannia Street in Stratford.

A media release from L'Arche Stratford shares that the new building "includes eight affordable living suites, representing a 25 per cent increase in affordable living suites for people with developmental disabilities. The building will increase L’Arche Stratford’s programming activities capacity by 56 per cent."

"Everyone is so grateful for the support we receive from the people who come to golf, attend the After-Party, and from all of our sponsors. It was a wonderful day of fun and fellowship. You could feel the excitement about the Be Belong Become capital campaign and the construction of 426 Britannia," shared Executive Director Stephanie Calma.

The next fundraising event for the Be Belong Become capital campaign will be the 10th Annual Walk N’ Roll with L’Arche on October 18th at the Upper Queen’s Park Bandshell. To donate to the Be Belong Become capital campaign, call 519-271-9751 ext. 224 or visit http://www.larchestratford.ca/.
