Two people hurt in incident with knife-wielding man

A 19-year-old man is accused of brandishing a knife and assaulting two people outside of an Owen Sound business.

Owen Sound police were called about a knife-wielding man early Saturday morning. Police were told the person out front of the eastside business was armed with a knife and was assaulting people. The business where the incident happened was not named by police.

Officers arrived to find two people suffering from non-life threatening injuries. They were taken to Brightshores Health System for treatment.

A 19-year-old man from Owen Sound was arrested in connection with the assaults. He is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and one count of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. The man is scheduled to appear in court in relation to the charges next month.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
