Blood donation events being held in Mount Forest next month

Mount Forest will host a pair of upcoming blood donation events in September.

Canadian Blood Services shared in a release that on Tuesday, September 2 and Tuesday, September 30, there will be a blood donation event at the Mount Forest Recreation Centre.

Both of the events will run from 2-7 p.m. There is a crucial focus on O-negative blood, which can be vital in emergency care, because it is compatible with all blood types, and can be given to any patient due to being the universal blood type.

Donations of all blood types are welcome, though. However, demand is high for O-negative blood this summer, so O-negative donations are needed right away to keep the supply strong.

To donate blood, visit blood.ca, download the GiveBlood app or call 1-888-2DONATE to find a location near you.
