Dirt biker charged with impaired, dangerous driving after crash

A dirt bike crash in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh earlier this month has led to charges against a 24-year-old man.

Emergency crews were called about the collision on Berry Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on August 2. Huron OPP officers found the driver of the bike a short distance away from the scene, suffering from minor injuries. He was arrested for alleged impaired and dangerous driving.

Further investigation determined the man had been driving a second vehicle after allegedly consuming alcohol, police said.

A 24-year-old Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township man is charged with two counts each of dangerous driving, impaired driving, and driving while prohibited. He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Goderich court in relation to the charges on September 15.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
