High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

A fiery two-vehicle crash in Port Elgin over the long weekend has left a 22-year-old man facing impaired driving charges.Saugeen Shores police said the two vehicles collided on Goderich Street, where one caught fire, shortly after 9 p.m. on Sunday.The people in one of the two vehicles suffered minor injuries. The driver of the other vehicle is alleged to have failed a roadside sobriety test and was taken to police headquarters for further testing.On Tuesday, police announced a 22-year-old from Etobicoke has been charged with impaired driving and careless driving in relation to the crash. The man's license has also been suspended and his vehicle impounded, police said.
