Donation supports Wingham Hospital Oncology Clinic

The Wingham and District Hospital Foundation is celebrating a donation of $19,500 in support of the hospital’s Oncology department.

The money will go toward purchasing new patient chairs to improve comfort and care for individuals undergoing cancer treatment.

The funds come from cancer patient Katrina Klemp, her family, and friends. Klemp and Justin Weishar partnered with the Listowel Golf Course to raise money through two couples’ night golf tournaments. Each event featured a nine-hole scramble followed by dinner, along with a silent auction, raffle, and putting contest.

The initiative was deeply personal for Klemp, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment.

“It means so much to me that these funds will stay local and help people right here in our community who are dealing with cancer,” said Klemp.

“Katrina’s efforts and generosity are truly inspiring,” said WDH Foundation Executive Director Nicole Duquette-Jutzi. “New treatment chairs will make a world of difference for patients in our Oncology Clinic. We are so thankful to everyone who helped make these tournaments a success.”
