Wellington OPP lay five charges after unsafe ATV stop

Wellington County OPP say a Palmerston driver is facing five charges after an ATV was stopped with a small child sitting on the driver’s lap.

Police were conducting enforcement on King Street in Palmerston around 7:45 p.m. on September 13 when the ATV was pulled over.

A 22-year-old is charged with failing to ensure an infant was properly secured, operating an unsafe vehicle, driving without insurance, driving without plates, and failing to surrender a licence.

The accused has a court date in Guelph Provincial Offences Court.

Police remind the public to call 911 if they spot impaired or unsafe driving, and to report non-emergency traffic complaints to the OPP.
