Upper Grand District School Board to host virtual series for parents

The Upper Grand District School Board (UGDSB) will host a special virtual series for parents and caregivers this school year.

A press release from UGDSB shares that the series, titled Creating Connection and Supporting Transitions, will be for all parents or guardians of students in grades Kindergarten to 12+ that have intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder.

This series, which will run from September through May of 2026, is "designed to equip caregivers with the tools and knowledge needed to support their youth as they transition through and beyond the school years," according to the UGDSB release.

Information in the sessions will include important topics like service coordination, transition planning, employment readiness, independent living, and building lifelong community networks.
