Rescue on Saugeen River after raft deflates

South Bruce OPP and Hanover Fire were called to the Saugeen River Sunday night after a person became stranded when their inflatable raft punctured.

Police say the call came in on September 21 around 8:40 p.m. and the individual was found about an hour later. Fire crews brought them safely to shore, and no injuries were reported.

Officials remind residents that inflatable rafts may be fine for pools, but are unsafe for use on rivers or Lake Huron.
