One person charged following assault in Goderich

A Goderich resident is facing an assault charge following an incident in Goderich.

Huron County OPP say on September 26, police responded to a report of an assault on Kingston Street in the Town of Goderich.

Officers learned following an investigation that the accused had assaulted a person who had been standing outside a business on Kingston Street.

A 33-year-old from Goderich now faces a charge of assault and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

The accused was processed, held for a bail hearing, and later released from custody with a court date scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich on October 20.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
