Port Elgin road closed for watermain leak

The Town of Saugeen Shores has closed a Port Elgin street today to fix a watermain leak.

The Town says Gustavus Street, between Wellington Street and Goderich Street, will be closed Thursday until approximately 4 p.m.

A water main leak was been discovered, requiring full closure of the road.

The public is asked to avoid the area and take alternate routes.

The Town said it's optimistic work can be completed on Thursday and there will be no further interruptions to residents or Pumpkinfest, scheduled to begin Friday.
