Major renovations celebrated at Tiverton Sports Centre

The Municipality of Kincardine is celebrating the completion of major renovations at the Tiverton Sports Centre.

Renovations, the cost of which amounted to $1 million, began in April of this year and concluded in early October.

Tiverton's arena was originally built in 1989 and was due for major lifecycle replacements for a number of components of the building to "maintain safety, efficiency, and accessibility. The upgrades ensure the facility remains a welcoming and inclusive space for residents and visitors of all abilities," according to the Municipality of Kincardine.

Upgrades include a new refrigeration plant, new arena boards and glass, and a universal accessible washroom.

"These enhancements represent a long-term investment in Tiverton’s recreation facilities," said Luke Bedard, Director of Community Services. "We’re excited to welcome the community back to enjoy the rink and to highlight the work that’s been completed."
