Cops for Cancer event raises over $25K in Mitchell

The Perth County OPP and Stratford Police Service recently held the third annual Cops for Cancer event in Mitchell.

The event was held in Keterson Park on September 27.

Uniform and Civilian members from both police services contributed through donations and by shaving their heads, with the goal of raising $25,000 to support childhood cancer research.

The two police detachments are pleased to announce they reached their goal, raising a total of $25,010.25.

Many vehicles from the two police detachments were on display, including cruisers, ATV's, tactical response vehicles, and more. A BBQ and raffle helped with the fundraising efforts.

"I would like to thank everyone that has contributed to our 2025 Cops for Cancer fundraising effort this year," shared Perth County OPP Operations Manager Staff Sergeant David Sinko. "Together with our partners at the Stratford Police Service, and many very generous donations of raffle prizes, food for our event, and cash, we were able to raise over $25,000 in the fight against childhood cancer! An amazing community effort! Thank you!"
