More nominations needed for Women of Distinction event in Listowel

More nominations are being sought for the Women of Distinction for North Perth event in Listowel.

The event this year is called Blue Jeans and Bling: Celebrating North Perth Women of Distinction. Nominations are open until October 13 at 6 p.m.

You can choose to nominate a woman who resides or works in North Perth in the following categories: Professional Under 40, Professional Over 40, Community Volunteer Service, Lifetime Achievement or Entrepreneur.

Fields that nominees can be involved in can include but are not limited to the arts, agriculture, business, education, and health. 

Nominees should ideally contribute and be active in the North Perth community and demonstrate leadership and act as a role model for others.

The event itself will be Saturday, November 8 from 7-11 p.m. at the Listowel Ag Hall. Tickets are $60 and can be purchased at PerthHuron.UnitedWay.ca or by calling Kara at 519-502-7250.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
