Crash in Bruce County sends one to hospital with 'life threatening' injuries

A two-vehicle crash in Bruce County has sent one person to hospital with what police are calling "life threatening" injuries.

According to the OPP, police and other first responders were to a two vehicle crash just after 8:30 p.m. on Monday.

The crash involved a tractor and a pick-up truck hauling a trailer happened on Bruce Road 1 near Kairshea Avenue just outside of Lucknow. Bruce Road 1 was closed between Bruce Road 6 and Grey Ox Avenue for several hours, but has since re-opened.

"Both vehicles were northbound on Bruce Road 1 when the tractor was struck from behind," police said.

The operator of the tractor, a 29-year-old resident of Kincardine, was air lifted to hospital in London with serious injuries.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
