Police make drug bust during RIDE check

The South Bruce OPP recently seized numerous drugs at a traffic stop in Paisley.

On October 2 just before 2:30 a.m., South Bruce OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program along Queen Street South in Paisley.

According to police, a vehicle drove up and an officer noted the driver was known to police from previous incidents and was violating existing terms of release.

The person was taken into custody, and a police search found 4 grams of suspected fentanyl, 5 grams of suspected methamphetamine, and 11 grams of suspected cocaine.

As a result, the 40-year-old from West Grey was charged with failure to comply with release order and possession of a schedule 1 substance.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and subsequently remanded into custody.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
