Owen Sound woman arrested after police cruiser rammed

Owen Sound police say they arrested a woman after a dangerous encounter involving her vehicle and multiple police cruisers.

On Sunday, October 12, officers were called to check on a woman’s well-being and found her inside a car.

According to police, the driver was asked to get out of the car, but instead started the engine, put the vehicle it in reverse, then rammed a cruiser twice, narrowly missing the two officers. The driver sped off and almost hit another cruiser in the process.

A disabled vehicle was located nearby, and a suspect was arrested and taken to the police station. Police reported that breath tests showed the suspect's blood alcohol level was well over the legal limit.
