Police investigating "distraction theft" from residence in Kincardine

A recent theft that saw a purse stolen from a home in Kincardine is under investigation.

According to police, on October 6 between 7:30-8:10 p.m., an unknown male entered a residence on Alice Street in Kincardine.

The suspect encountered the home owner inside, and the suspect then claimed they were locked out of their own residence and asked to use the home owner's phone book.

The suspect used the phone book and left a short time later. The home owner then realized soon after that her purse had been taken.

Police are now looking for a male with tan complexion, approximately 55-years-of-age, 5'2" in height with a medium build and short hair. The suspect was wearing a black t-shirt and is believed to have been operating a white Ford pick-up truck.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
