Two swans shot dead at Hullett Marsh

The shooting deaths of two swans in Huron County's Hullett Marsh area has prompted an investigation by the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR).

The MNR says the two deceased swans, with gunshot wounds, were found in the Hullett Marsh on October 10.

A concerned hunter located the first swan deceased near hunting stake 17, in Zone A.

The second swan with a broken wing was later seen in the water. It was later confirmed to also be deceased.

"The Ministry of Natural Resources takes this matter seriously and is working to identify those responsible," a statement from the MNR said. "If you have any information that could assist the investigation, please call the MNRF TIPS line at 1-877-847-7667, your local ministry office, or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS."
