Huron OPP were called about the incident on Main Street South on October 6. Officers determined one person had assaulted another and then took off.
No serious injuries were reported.
A 29-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested shortly after the incident and is charged with one count of assault.
He has been released from custody and will appear in Goderich court on December 15.
People in southern Huron and Lambton counties are being told to limit their time outside.
