Saugeen Shores police arrest two near SDSS

The Saugeen Shores Police Service say a local school was put under what it called a lockdown Wednesday afternoon, as officers investigated an incident that led to the arrest of two people.

On October 29, police received a report from Saugeen District Senior School that they said required an immediate response.

"As a precaution, school staff placed the school in a lockdown while police investigated a weapons-related incident that occurred outside of the school," police said.

According to police, the investigation resulted in the arrest of an adult male and a female youth. No charges were announced.

"Following the arrests, police confirmed there was no ongoing threat to students or staff, and the lockdown was lifted," police said. "The Saugeen Shores Police Service commends school staff and students for their cooperation and swift response during this incident."

The investigation remains ongoing.
