Bruce Power and its supplier partners have contributed $20,000 to help families in Bruce, Grey, and Huron counties who are affected by childhood cancer.
The donation supports Childcan, an organization dedicated to providing emotional, financial, and social support to children withg cancer and their families. Funds will help local families access critical care while easing some of the financial and logistical burdens that come with treatment.
“Together with our suppliers, we are proud to support Childcan’s efforts to provide assistance to children battling cancer and their families across the region,” said Maggie Tieman, Bruce Power’s Director of Community and External Affairs. “By investing in programs that deliver logistical and financial support, we’re helping ensure that families can focus on what matters most – the health and well-being of their children.”
Childcan Executive Director Suzanne Fratschko Elliott expressed gratitude for the ongoing partnership.
“We are full of gratitude for the difference Bruce Power and their Supplier Partners make in the lives of families from Saugeen Ojibway Nation Territory and Bruce, Grey, and Huron counties who are facing the challenges of childhood cancer,” she said. “Many of these families receive care at Children’s Hospital in London, and thanks to the generousity of Bruce Power and their supplier partners, Childcan can walk alongside them, helping to ease the financial, emotional, and social burdens of a childhood cancer diagnosis.”
The contribution is part of Bruce Power’s Supplier Sponsorship Program, which connects the company’s vendor partners with non-profit organizations supporting health and wellness, veterans, food banks and hospital foundations.
In 2025, the program donated a record $765,000 to local, provincial and national organizations.
Founded in 1974, Childcan continues to provide compassionate, personalized support to families throughout every stage of the childhood cancer journey — from diagnosis to treatment and beyond.
