Owen Sound offers couples a chance for a Valentine's Day wedding

The City of Owen Sound is opening the doors of City Hall once again for a unique Valentine’s Day celebration.

Bookings are now available for the fourth annual Just Say Yes wedding event.

Organized in partnership with the Owen Sound River District and Shannon Deckers Real Estate, the one-day offering gives couples a chance to exchange vows in a simple, stylish setting on Saturday, February 14, 2026.

The event is designed for couples seeking a no-fuss ceremony, whether they want an alternative to eloping, a legal wedding to complement a destination celebration, or just wish to mark their anniversary on Valentine’s Day. Sixteen time slots are available, with weddings scheduled every 45 minutes between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Each booking includes an officiant, décor, a selection of vows, borrowed bouquets and boutonnières, and access to themed backdrops and props for photos. Couples will also receive ten high-resolution digital images after their ceremony. Up to 20 guests may attend each wedding.

“Love is in the air at City Hall," Mayor Ian Boddy said. "The Just Say Yes event has become a Valentine’s Day tradition that celebrates love, community, and the spirit of Owen Sound.”

The cost to participate is $500, not including the required marriage licence. Licences cost $150 through the City of Owen Sound and can also be purchased at any municipal office in Ontario. City Hall is fully accessible, and visitors will find two-hour free on-street parking or five-hour free parking in municipal lots nearby.

The event is by appointment only, and organizers recommend booking early due to limited spots.
